Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use form a legal agreement between you and SignOfficial (operated by Modern Deployment LLC) regarding your access to and use of the service. By visiting, accessing, purchasing a plan, or using SignOfficial in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SignOfficial after updates take effect means the revised Terms apply.
02Use of Services
What SignOfficial provides
SignOfficial provides electronic signature infrastructure that allows users to send PDF documents to recipients for digital signing, create public signing links, and manage signed document records. You may use the service only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of SignOfficial is appropriate for your specific documents and jurisdiction. SignOfficial is a technology platform — we are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. For documents with significant legal consequences, we recommend consulting a licensed attorney.

Appropriate use casesSignOfficial is well-suited for contracts, NDAs, service agreements, waivers, employment paperwork, and similar everyday commercial documents. It is not designed for documents requiring notarization, court filing, or in-person witnessing.
03E-Signatures & Legal Effect
Legal validity and our role as record-keeper
Electronic signatures collected through SignOfficial are intended to comply with the U.S. ESIGN Act, UETA, and comparable frameworks in other jurisdictions. We record each signing event with a timestamp, the signer's email address, IP address, and a document fingerprint to support enforceability.

E-witness clarificationSignOfficial acts as an electronic record-keeper — logging and timestamping each signing event. This is not the same as a physical in-person witness. Documents that legally require a witness physically present at signing (such as wills in many jurisdictions) are not satisfied by SignOfficial alone. We make no representation that any specific document type is legally sufficient in your jurisdiction.

Identity verificationSignOfficial verifies signer identity only through email address. We do not perform identity document checks, notarization, or any form of government-issued ID verification. You are responsible for ensuring that the right person signs using the correct email address.
04Accounts & Email Identity
How your account works
SignOfficial uses your email address as your account identifier — no password is required. All documents, purchases, and history are linked to your email and accessible via a verification link sent to that address.
You are responsible for maintaining control of your email account. Anyone who can access your email can access your SignOfficial documents and account history. If you believe your email has been compromised, you should contact us immediately at [email protected].

Keep your email secureBecause SignOfficial uses email-based access, your email account is the key to your documents. Use a strong password and two-factor authentication on your email provider to protect your SignOfficial records.
05Content & Ownership
Your documents and our platform
You retain ownership of the documents, templates, and content you upload to SignOfficial. By uploading content, you grant SignOfficial a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, and display that content solely as necessary to provide the service — for example, to deliver documents to recipients and generate signed PDFs.
All rights, title, and interest in SignOfficial's platform, interface, technology, and branding remain with Modern Deployment LLC or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform without our written permission.
06Payments
Purchasing a plan
SignOfficial offers paid plans for sending private documents and creating public signing links. By purchasing a plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees at the time of purchase. All transactions are processed securely through Stripe, which operates under its own terms and privacy policy.
Plan purchases are for the specific send or signature allotment described at checkout. Unused sends or signatures do not roll over or expire on a fixed date unless otherwise stated. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us at [email protected] if you have a billing issue.
07Restrictions
Prohibited conduct
You may not use SignOfficial in any way that is unlawful, deceptive, harmful, or disruptive. Without limiting that, you agree not to:
- Send documents to recipients without their reasonable expectation of receiving them
- Use the platform to forge, falsify, or misrepresent any signature or signing event
- Upload documents containing malware, illegal content, or content that violates third-party rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' documents, accounts, or data
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform's technology or interface
- Use the service in a manner that violates applicable laws in your jurisdiction
08Availability
Service availability and changes
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue portions of SignOfficial at any time to maintain the platform, improve features, or respond to legal and technical requirements. We do not guarantee any specific uptime or availability level.
The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure updates, or events outside our control. For time-sensitive document signings, we recommend planning ahead and not relying on the platform at the last possible moment.
09Disclaimers
Disclaimers of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignOfficial is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure. We also do not warrant that e-signatures collected through SignOfficial will be legally sufficient for your specific document or jurisdiction — that determination is your responsibility, with legal counsel if needed.
10Liability
Limitations of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SignOfficial and Modern Deployment LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the service — including loss of data, document unenforceability, or business disruption.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to SignOfficial in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $100.
11Termination
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to SignOfficial if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or used the platform in a way that harms other users or the service.
You may stop using SignOfficial at any time. We recommend downloading copies of your signed documents before discontinuing use. Provisions regarding ownership, payments, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive any termination.
12Governing Law
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
